Tom Bainbridge and Oliver Morris have been announced as the replacement team for Ben Erbsland and Kristie Mercer who left Star FM in recent months after having topped radio ratings published in June.
Tom and Olly, as they will be known on-air when they debut in February, have been recruited from Melbourne community station SYN FM.
Star FM boss Rod Winner said they continued the recent trend of the breakfast shift being used to develop announcers who move to metropolitan radio.
“Star FM Albury has had a terrific history in developing outstanding talent, and Tom and Olly will be no exception,” Mr Winner said.
“The boys come to Albury with massive enthusiasm, unique humour and a real desire to become part of the community.”
The pair, in their early 20s, have a background in comedy, having produced their own show, Aarvark Mark After Dark, for this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
“We’ll knock your socks off, then put them back on again,” Morris said.
“We’re kind of nice guys like that.”
