Weeding watched from the sidelines as Tuffey hammered 55 off 38 balls in a T20 practice match at Lavington on Thursday night.
“He hit a couple of really big ones,” Weeding said.
“One ended up halfway up the hill near the velodrome.
“He’s a huge man and bowls from height.
“He’s going to be a fantastic player and seems like a good bloke too.”
Two balls were lost during Tuffey’s cameo as Lavington ran-out comfortable winners against an East Albury side missing Weeding, Cameron White, Ryan De Vries and Kris Milosta.
Panther coach Robbie Mackinlay said Tuffey had brought genuine excitement.
“One of his sixes was the biggest I’ve seen since Jay Banks hit Matt Armstrong over the grandstand and Brendan Drew did the same to Heath Naughton,” Mackinlay said.
