After losing Twenty20 matches to North Albury and Lavington last weekend, the Eagles hit back hard with opener John Spencer lethal in the run chase.
He hammered 60, including seven boundaries and two sixes, as the visitors reeled in Albury’s 8-206 in just 33 overs.
Drew Cameron (71 not out) and Glen Vassallo (38) were also destructive.
Skipper Zac Simmonds said the performance was an improvement on last week.
“We want to improve each week and I thought we did that,” Simmonds said.
“John Spencer took the game away from them in the first 10 to 15 overs and Drew batted well through the innings.
“We can play better, but it was a pleasing performance.”
Albury was competitive with the bat with opener Zac Stuart making 42 and Nick Sheridan 30.
Coach Luke Styles made 27 despite injuring his leg and requiring a runner.
Tallangatta’s Nathan Thompson showed why he’s one of the most feared batsmen in CAW by leading the Bushies to victory over East Albury at The Scots School Albury.
After being set 193 for victory, Thompson peppered the boundaries on the small ground to finish 56 not out.
Thompson had support from recruit Phil Neville (34), Sahib Malhotra (33 not out), Mat Armstrong (24) and Jake Hill (23) as the visitors chased down the score with 13 overs to spare.
East Albury struggled to put partnerships together in its innings with first-gamer Eddy Ziebarth the shining light with 52.
He hit five boundaries and a six in his first knock since crossing from Burrumbuttock and received support from Luke Brunckhorst (40).
Lavington continued its impressive start to the season with a 41-run win over St Patrick’s at Xavier.
Although the Panthers were disappointed to be bowled out for 169 in 43.3 overs, the bowling might of David Tassell, Ryan Brown, Daryl Tuffey and Brett Davies prevailed.
Brown claimed the early wickets of Neil Smith and Luke Restall and, when Tuffey trapped Matt Crawshaw in front for eight, the game was virtually over.
The Patties finished with 128 thanks to a solid knock from Mitch O'Brien (38).
Wodonga made light work of Wodonga Raiders.
North Albury defeated New City by seven wickets with Ben Paddle making the highest score of the round with 75 not out.
