Wangaratta's Adrian Pantling and Ethan Fruend clinched their first Ovens and Murray state pairs crown at Corowa Civic Bowls Club.

The duo scored a 20-16 victory against YMGCR's Ray Irvine and Peter Velardo and set it up with a fast start.
Pantling and Fruend led by as many as 10 and held a six-shot buffer on the last end, and, despite dropping a two, had done enough to claim the title.

"We both bowled pretty well," Pantling said.
"Ethan has been bowling really well. He's going super."
The pair will represent the O and M during Champions Week in April at Bendigo East Bowling Club.
Meanwhile, YMGCR's Anne Miles and Garry Sanders went on to win the 60 and over singles at Benalla.
Miles defeated clubmate Laureen Smith, 21-16, while Sanders downed Wangaratta's Greg McDonald, 21-12.
