Departing Wangaratta Rovers' ruckman Ed Dayman admits he became fixated on gaining weight to combat the league's 'man mountains' in the Ovens and Murray Football League.

The 2018 Leo Dean medallist produced some super football as a teenager in 2019, but struggled last season as the Hawks finished in the top three for the first time since Barry Hall played a handful of games in 2012.
He's joined Bellarine Football League outfit Ocean Grove and will move to Geelong before Christmas.
"I just want a change of lifestyle and scenery," he admitted.
"I've got a couple of mates down there already and there's a couple of other boys making the move as well, which is nice."
Dayman finished 2019 around 98kgs, but pushed 110 this year.
"I had a pretty average year, over the last pre-season there were a couple of big names in like Dawson Simpson (Myrtleford) and Tom Goodwin (Corowa-Rutherglen) and I thought I'd better try and put a bit of size on," he explained.

"I shouldn't have worried so much about that, I really hit the gym over running last season, which wasn't the greatest thing.
"I guess you learn from these things over time, just trying to get a lot bigger and stronger, but I can see how it impacted my footy."
